Sensitivity Analysis

What is sensitivity analysis?

After AI screening, the sensitivity analysis tool helps you understand how different confidence thresholds would affect your results. It answers the question: "What if I changed the cutoff for Include vs Exclude?"

How to use it

1. In the Review stage, expand the Sensitivity Analysis section

2. Use the slider to adjust the threshold

3. Watch how the Include/Exclude/Maybe counts change in real time

The spectrum

  • Liberal (left): Lower threshold for inclusion. More papers are included, fewer excluded. Lower risk of missing relevant studies, but more papers to review in full-text.
  • Conservative (right): Higher threshold for inclusion. Fewer papers included, more excluded. Saves time on full-text review, but higher risk of missing something.

When to use it

  • After AI screening completes, before finalizing decisions
  • To understand how "borderline" your results are
  • To justify your threshold choice in your methods section

Tip

Most systematic reviews should err on the side of inclusion at the abstract screening stage. Use a liberal threshold here, then apply stricter criteria during full-text review.
