Conference Abstract Import
One of the biggest gaps in systematic reviews is conference abstracts. Databases like PubMed and Embase cover journal articles well, but conference presentations from ASCO, ESMO, ASH, and other major meetings are often missed entirely. This means your review could be missing the latest findings that haven't been published in journals yet.
Oryn solves this with built-in conference abstract search.
Supported conferences
Oncology
- ASCO Annual Meeting (and ASCO GI, ASCO GU sub-symposia)
- ESMO Congress (and ESMO GI, ESMO Open specialty meetings)
- San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS)
- IASLC World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC)
- AACR Annual Meeting
Hematology
- ASH Annual Meeting
More conferences are being added regularly.
How to use it
1. In the Import stage, click the Search Conferences tab
2. Select one or more conferences from the dropdown
3. Select one or more years
4. Click Search
5. Review the results and click Import to add them to your project
You can select multiple conferences and multiple years in a single search. Results are deduplicated automatically with the rest of your imported papers.
Other import methods
Beyond file uploads and conference search, Oryn supports two additional ways to get abstracts into your project:
Paste DOIs
Have a list of DOIs? Paste them directly and Oryn will fetch the full metadata (title, authors, abstract, journal, year) automatically.
Paste text
Have raw abstract text copied from a PDF, email, or website? Paste it in and Oryn will use AI to parse it into structured records. This is useful for abstracts from sources that don't offer standard export formats.
Why this matters
Most screening tools only accept file uploads from traditional databases. If your review includes conference abstracts, you'd normally have to manually copy-paste them into spreadsheets or skip them entirely. With Oryn, conference abstracts are first-class citizens in your review, searched and screened alongside everything else.
