How AI Screening Works

Starting a screen

1. Make sure your criteria are saved and locked

2. Click Start Screening

What you'll see

• A progress bar showing how many abstracts have been screened
• Real-time count of Include / Exclude / Maybe decisions
• You can pause at any time and resume later without losing progress

What the AI returns for each paper

• Decision: Include, Exclude, or Maybe
• Confidence: 0-100% (how certain the AI is)
• Explanation: 2-3 sentences explaining why

When screening finishes

You'll be taken to the Review stage where you can sort by confidence, review uncertain decisions, and override anything you disagree with. See [The Review Dashboard](/help/review-dashboard) for details.
